Mike Bowell
Mike brings over 40 years’ experience in business restructuring and insolvency matters. Having started his career with a top 5 national firm of Accountants in London, he then joined a top 15 firm to eventually become a partner in the insolvency team. Mike qualified as a Licensed Insolvency Practitioner in 1993 and in 2000 he set up a specialist insolvency and finance firm which, following a number of mergers, became WSM MBI Coakley LLP in 2020. Mike has dealt with all forms of formal appointments for both individuals and corporates, as well as informal solutions. Mike has considerable experience in the hospitality sector and now acts as a consultant to WSM.
Adam Nakar
Adam graduated from Birmingham University in 2005 with a degree in Modern History and Political Science. During his time at university he spent his holidays working at WSM, and was headhunted back in 2008 to join the growing insolvency team. Adam passed the Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency exam in 2009 and the three JIEB exams in 2010, and obtained his insolvency licence through the ICAEW in January 2017. He is also a Member of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals. Outside work Adam is most often found doting on his baby daughter, Jessica. He also enjoys chess, computer games and motor sport, and is a keen (and decent enough) amateur kart racer.
Douglas Pinteau
Doug is a chartered accountant and licensed insolvency practitioner and has been a partner in our insolvency team since 2018. Post-university, after time working in the Middle East, he gained experience in the insolvency sector, passing the Certificate of Proficiency in Insolvency, before joining WSM. Doug went on to study and pass the Joint Insolvency Exam Board examinations in 2014 and the ACA in July 2019. He is also a Member of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals. Outside of work he is a keen sports fan and has a young family.
Svetlana Chan
Svetlana has been with the firm for over 15 years. She started her restructuring and insolvency career when she joined as a graduate from the University of Surrey and qualified as an insolvency practitioner in 2014, having passed her JIEB exams. Svetlana gained her Insolvency Licence with the ICAEW in 2015. Svetlana is fluent in both Russian and English. Outside of work, she is a committee member and Secretary of her local NCT branch and volunteers at various NCT charity events throughout the year. Svetlana enjoys Bikram yoga, swimming and going on holiday with her family.
Shaun Walker
Shaun has been with the firm for over 7 years and is a graduate of law and gained his post graduate diploma after completing the LPC at the University of Law in Guildford. Prior to starting his career in restructuring and insolvency, Shaun worked for a firm of professional trustees dealing with global investment projects. Shaun passed his ICAEW Certificate in Insolvency in 2015 and is currently studying for the JIEB finals. At the weekend Shaun enjoys cycling and the occasional clay pigeon shooting event.
Lauren Saxby
Lauren is an insolvency and restructuring case administrator and joined the firm in mid-2016, having completed her LPC at the University of Law in Guildford. Lauren has studied for and passed the Certificate in Insolvency with the ICAEW in 2017 and is presently studying for her ACA exams with the ICAEW. In her spare time Lauren enjoys horse riding, running, skiing and scuba diving.
